Settled in Douai in 1625, the Carmelite sisters lived there for almost 400 years, first in the Arsenal district, then in the premises of the Abbaye de Paix and finally in 1847 rue de l'Arbre-sec.
After their departure from Douai for Saint-Amand in 2015, the monastery was acquired by the Habitat et Humanisme association to create an intergenerational residence with 37 social housing units.
